The WildCape is our little sister version of the WildRobe which we launched in May 2022.  Like the WildRobe this is also for every wild adventure and wild rebel out there!  Inspired by nature and our love of being at one with nature, this cape has unlimited wears waiting to happen.

Watch Clare talk about the design and how she would wear!

The only difference from our WildRobe is the overall body length, this cape is 27" long compared to the 48"drop of the robe.  For both we now have the added optional feature of two deep pockets.  These are fixed on one side, allowing you to choose whether you wish them to be on the inside or outside, simply reverse your cape and you are good to go!

Each cape has an oversized cowl neck that doubles as a hood, it is fully reversible for the times you may use as a dry robe, just flip it inside out and enjoy the feel of the dry wool for a second time.  It can also be worn either way, with the opening at the front or the back.  Simply slip the cowl neck over, pop your arms through and your off!

Available in the three limited edition run tartan fabrics.  See full details below in Dimensions & Details section.

If you would like a custom sized cape then please select the Bespoke Sized Cape item and we will contact you to confirm measurements and your fabric choice.  This will be made and shipped within 1-2 weeks of receiving your information.

Wild Warmth

I loved this design from the moment I first saw it, but decided to wait to try it on when I visited the mill in September. Loved it even more — so much that I snagged the sample to take home with me!

It is soft and snuggly, and the colors are gorgeous. I love the pockets, too. The pullover design with the cowl neck is ingenious…easy to put on and no fussing with buttons or zips.

I have received compliments everywhere I’ve worn it. People love the tartan and are surprised at how soft the fabric is.

This is an exquisitely designed and expertly executed hallmark of Prickly Thistle's ethos!!! Versatility and thrift melds with effortless sheik and universal style. Historical reference is just under the surface with expert pattern weaving and just jaw-dropping materials. Every purchase I have made from Prickly Thistle is a fashion statement; every piece is testament to historical and environmental ethics; every piece reveals the sensitivity of and reaction to responsible environmental and historical commitments; and finally, every piece illustrates the clever and curious minds that together design and weave such gorgeous garments. In short, I'm gobsmacked every single time!! I would gladly volunteer my services and be the most enthusiastic cheerleader, pom-poms wildly shaking, for this glorious enterprise! Woohoo!!

Most brands in the 'fashion' world add multipliers of x 2 for wholesale then add another x 2 for retail. When you buy direct from us its a less than x 1, we use the profits from everything we create to support more fairly paid jobs and push the textile world to be more eco-conscious. But we do a lot more like donating to charities and education bodies. This is what we proudly call our ethical pay it forward mark up.

The cost breakdown for this garment is;

QC, Labelling & Packing £7.50
Overheads (incl insurance, premise costs etc) £31.88
Total Cost To Company £244.38

You wear the item 3 times a week for the next 3 years (remember this piece of outerwear can be worn two ways!), that is 468 wears. The CPW is £395 divided by 468 wears, Cost Per Wear £0.84!
