Prickly Thistle
As of 14th October 2022 we rebelled, and for now have an anti-social media platform policy. Let's connect in a real way, set yourself free from the scroll....
National Living Wage
At Prickly Thistle Scotland Ltd. we recognise just how valuable and important our Rebel Team are. Although we were doing it already, we became a Living Wage employer in August 2020 – meaning that we ensure that all employees aged 18 and over, are paid at least the living wage (and not just the national minimum wage). We are committed to this position and will increase the amount paid to employees by the same amount as any increase in the living wage within six months of the date of any official government announcement.
DHL Go Green
Doing what we can to offset the carbon used in the logistics and transportation of our products by choosing a DHL service and initiative that donates to climate protection projects around the world. For example, in 2019 through DHL’s GoGreen Climate Neutral services we offset 3,547.43 kg of CO2e. Full details of the various projects can be found at: dpdhl.com/gogreen-projects
SSE Green Energy
Since day 1 of being at the Pop-Up Mill (March 2019), we have chosen to pay a bit more for our energy at the Mill to reduce our carbon footprint by purchasing SSE Green Electricity which is 100% renewable and clean electricity generated by wind and hydro assets. It’s certified by Renewable Energy Guarantees of Origin (REGOs) and independently verified by EcoAct, a Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP) accredited provider. You can read what SSE have said about us here.
BCorp Certified
We are currently being assessed to become a certified UK B Corporation. This will mean that we have proven our brand is committed to a triple bottom line approach where people and the environment are just as important, if not more so, than just profit. We will be legally required to consider the impact of all decisions and operations on our workers; customers; suppliers; community; and the environment. If you want to read more about what we are doing, please check out our Brand Responsibilities, the rest of the Sustainable Rebels section of our online shop, or get in touch by e-mailing shop@pricklythistlescotland.com – we are an open book! We also encourage you to check out the BCorp Directory to discover some of the other amazing businesses from which you can make responsible purchases!
