We believe business should do more than sell things. We care about the people, places and ideas that can help build a better future — from supporting young people and local communities to backing creative, social and environmental causes.

Here are some of the things we’re proud to be part of, support and shout about.

University of the highlands & islands

The UHI Rebel Fund

We created the UHI Rebel Fund to back people with ideas for making things better — for people, for the planet and for the communities around them.

The fund offers up to £2,500 to a UHI student or group of students to turn an idea into action. It could be something practical, creative or completely new, as long as it challenges the usual way of doing things and helps push positive change.

You don't need to have all the answers. You just need a good idea, the energy to make it happen and support from someone at UHI. Projects need to connect to at least one of the UN Sustainable Development Goals and be achievable within the available funding.

We've backed the fund because we know what can happen when you give people the space, support and resources to try something different. Rebellion needs ideas — and ideas need a chance.

Brilliance! Pure, and simply, brilliant!

I mean, where to start! Such fabulous people, amazing vision and clothing that is just, astounding! I mean, astounding.

I ordered a custom Wild Robe from Prickly Thistle, and it took a while to narrow down the right tartan, but was treated with patience and encouragement through the entire process. Once chosen, the garments were made quickly, shipped efficiently, and though mine needed some alterations, it was love at first sight!

Clare and Rochelle managed their way through, were just so amazing to work with, and I can only highly, highly recommend a visit to their site, and to their shop on Rebel Row (Union St, Inverness).

From the first moment I stepped into the shop to verify measurements for the alterations, to the last time we stepped out, it just felt so warm and welcoming.

Gorgeous high -quality pieces to last forever

The kilt is absolutely stunning! First and foremost, the quality of both these items is really high. I've visited the mill and can attest to the cratmanship. They are also both beautiful. I bought a green kilt and sweater-vest from Noost. They go beautifully together but also work very well separately. I love both pieces very much, and the story behind them makes it all the better!
