The Maxi was our first and legendary Kick Ass Kilt design!  With no fabric waste, this kilt is not just a kilt, it’s a cape and a top half piece all in one.  Designed to follow form, there is only one piece of hardware, the kilt strap and buckle with a 3-inch size range always.  Lets face it we all move up and down at little, and we hate those clothes that don’t go with flow….

All maxi’s are made to order, it fit’s better, so will be loved more and in time saves the planet and your purse….

Want to see it move? You can watch it styled in action with Clare here

(The images shown are an example of how the kilt fits and rolls, this tartan design is for example purposes only)

Who It's Made By

  • Your Kilt is made by bad-ass womxn and men of the Scottish Highlands
  • Proudly preserving century old textile skills and machinery
  • Also proudly disrupting the world of future clothing, we have seen the past and it works!

• Size – Made to Measure, please specify your preferred waistband size (ie where you want the kilt to sit) and your widest hip size. Your kilt will be made to order, then despatched within 2 weeks.

• Length – with an a-symmetric hem line, the shortest length is approx. 21” from the waistband to the longest length of approx 33”

• Waistband – should your waist size be over 38” your maxi will feature an extra panel of the same fabric to ensure we can keep being bad-ass zero waste but also give you plenty of fabric swag perfect for you.

• Item Finishing – Rope stitch edging with small hand fray finish on maxi edge, two feature kilt straps and buckles, with branded real leather label. Black and brown leather straps are optional, along with aged brass, aged silver or polished silver buckles. Each kilt has two fixed for closure fun!

• Fabric Design - Clan Tartans as available via our partner Clan Tartan specialist mill House of Edgar

• Weave Design - Classic twill

• Fabric Repeat – all fabric has been cut by hand from the cloth roll woven at our ally mill House of Edgar, therefore aspects of the repeat will be unique to each item, which is pretty cool as it makes them all unique! Some of the cloths they weave are to a half width dimension, therefore your kilt may feature a signature fray join to make the overall fabric into a larger piece.

When you buy direct from us its a less than x 1, we use the profits from everything we create to support more fairly paid jobs and push the textile world to be more eco-conscious. But we do a lot more like donating to charities and education bodies. This is what we proudly call our ethical pay it forward mark up.
