Our pirate jump-er stays true to our zero waste design principals but is without doubt inspired by the rebels of the sea.  Designed with a super cute crop length, oversized cuffs and a half (mast) neck, you will be ready to set sail within minutes of wearing.  This jumper is all about fun and looks awesome on its on but can also be paired with our pirate pants.

What It's Made Of

  • Made with 100% finest natural merino wool
  • Spun and dyed in Scotland
  • Woven into tartan fabrics by us at our Highland mill
  • All labels made from hand cut and laser etched Scottish leather

• Size – Made to Measure

• Length – all jumpers are on approx, 16" from shoulder to hem.

• Max Bust – we ask this to make sure that your jumper will fit perfectly!

• Neck Style & Opening – this jumper comes with our mid height neck as standard. When folded it is approx 6" high.

• Sleeve Sizes & Length – this jumper comes with a straight arm as standard. The approx length from the shoulder is 15" to the end of large cuff. All sleeve widths will be made to allow for a 3/4" ease on your bicep, allowing for lots of layers should you wish.

• Item Finishing – This jumper features an oversized body hem and oversized open arm cuffs, very oooo-eeerrr!

• Fabric Design - Launching with our Highland 14 designs, this jumper is available in our Rebel Generation (grey/black) and Rebel Heart (purple/black) tartan fabrics.

• Weave Design - woven in our unique and in-house shadow twill weave.

• Fabric Repeat – all fabric has been cut by hand from the cloth roll woven at our mill, therefore aspects of the repeat will be unique to each item, which is pretty cool as it makes them all unique!

• Colour Options - Black and greys

• Fabric Weight Options - 100% worsted spun merino, making for the a slick drape, suit like but way more bad-ass!

For all of our made to order items we can usually have your made to order and measure clothing to you within 2 weeks, when our fabric stores have your fabric on the roll.

For all items ordered as part of the 4 X A Year Club, we can have your clothing to you from as early as 2 weeks or it may be up to 8-10 weeks if we need more fabric. As we are weavers, its super handy right! No waiting months and months for items to pass around various factories, we do it all under one roof.

Here we proudly share with you our less than x 1 mark-up that we apply, and how this garment has been costed.

Most brands in the 'fashion' world add multipliers of x 2 for wholesale then add another x 2 for retail. When you buy direct from us its a less than x 1, we use the profits from everything we create to support more fairly paid jobs and push the textile world to be more eco-conscious. But we do a lot more like donating to charities and education bodies. This is what we proudly call our ethical pay it forward mark up.

You wear the item 3 times a week for the next 3 years, that is 468 wears. The CPW for the crop at £245 is divided by 468 wears, Cost Per Wear 52p!

My long waited for Maxi Kilt

It took years of saving to be in a position to buy a Maxi Kilt. The goddesses were with me as when the time came to place an order, Prickly Thistle had partnered with another tartan weaver. The resulting Kilt is simply amazing, surpassing all my meagre expectations. The fabric falls beautifully and is soft to the feel. The cut and subsequent drape is flattering to even this older body. It fits in well with my other Prickly Thistle garments.

Great quality

I really love the shirt, colour is very nice. I used to work in a warehouse as quality control for curtain and upholstery fabrics and I really appreciate the great quality of the fabric of the shirt I bought, The shirt is a bit shorter than expected, but I still like it. When I received the parcel I was pleasantly surprised, it was like unpacking a present.

Terrifying terrific tartan

When I saw an exhibition at the Design Museum of wartime inspired fabric covered in slogans I wondered where the textile designs of today are to deliver the climate crisis message (apart from slogan T-shirts) so when I heard of the climate tartan I knew it was just what I was looking for. I will be wearing an outfit made from it when I take part in Dorset’s COP. It is truly a work of art in itself and I will ensure I don’t waste any of it.
