from 656 reviewsMy partner and I just visited Inverness (while she was in London for a bit) and she fell in love with a scarf and what this company stands for!! I had to get it and surprise her before she came back to the states.
Awesome communication, great product, and fast responses!!!
I absolutely loved visiting the mill! To see how the incredible team constructs the designs is fascinating and not only do they take the time to explain what they're doing, you can hear and see the looms working. It's an amazing experience and I'd recommend it for anyone.
I love this scarf, it is soft and beautifully made. The weaving is unique and the colors really pop. I will be purchasing more items in the future.
Best way to purchase garments.
Without the major outlay.

I love everything about my kilt and LOVE the company!
I made my wife and sister in law come to the mill tour and they enjoyed it as much as I did. Everyone was very friendly and knowledgeable. It was a real privilege to see everyone at work and to witness the making of the Witches of Scotland Tartan. I cannot recommend this tour enough.
We thoroughly enjoyed our tour of Prickly Thistle weaving mill. What Claire & her team are doing is an inspiration towards a sustainable future. People & planet before profits must be the way of the future! After, we headed to their flagship store Rebel Row where I ordered a contemporary kilt. I'm very excited to wear it this winter in Australia!
My Wee Lassie has been looking at the Wild Robe for a while and showed me the style and story behind them when she first saw it a few years back
As our wedding anniversary was coming up and she showed it to me again this time in the Black Elements, thought I would surprise her and enlisted the help of DD (aka Darling Daughter) to use her shoulder measurements and adjust for her mum.
We contacted Prickly Thistle about the length, as my Wee Lassie is indeed wee at under 5 foot. Clare responded and we sorted it all out. Clare thank you for you patience to my sometimes naive questions.
When the Wee Lassie got it and tried it on, she was delighted with it, and one of her first comments was the pockets were in the right place. I guess when things are designed for someone taller, and hemming is the only adjustment made, then invariably the pockets are too low for the shorter individuals.
Not this case, as Clare and her Rebel clan nailed it!!
Many thanks for the time and effort in sizing and making this for my Wee Lassie.
It is much appreciated.
Best wishes to all from Canada...
What a wonderful celebration!
Although we live just 40 odd miles away it has taken us months to get to Inverness and to THE shop. I felt like a kid in a sweetie shop there was so much gorgeous material and clothing. I came away with a fabulous jacket which I spied as we walked into the shop. I'm hoping an oddment of slinky soft turquoise and blue can be found for even a patch pocket. There was one last top in those colours but it was for a slim and delicately tiny person. I will wear my best ever present with such joy and think of the two lovely helpful ladies in the shop and the lady so thrilled with her Climate tartan top. Now for a trip to the Mill….
The scarf is a delight and I feel thoroughly cherished wearing it
The Aliam scarf is beautiful. Vibrant colors. Lovely way to honor Alan and Miriam and their travels through Scotland. I’ve received many compliments on the scarf. Beautiful.
How lucky was I to receive this gorgeous scarf as a birthday gift, so soft and the design just beautiful, tasteful and greatly admired. What a find, this mill has so much to offer.
I bought this top as a treat to wear at our Burns Supper with my Prickly Thistle Kilt (that I wear often and love). I am a huge fan of Prickly Thistle for so many reasons-the quality, sustainability, talent and most of all the clothes are all gorgeous. Proud to wear!
