    Basically, we might buy something for £20 and wear it once, but if we buy something for £200 and just wear it 20 times that is £10 per wear. Wear it 200 times and its just £1!!! Often when we pay a little more for something, we will love it more because we really had to think about it before we handed over our money. It kinda makes sense right?

    It is something the 'fashion' world in particular is really bad at.... but we are bad-ass so nothing to hide under this piece of tartan, nothing bad but maybe an ass!

    • Hoodie Body Ease - based on the measurements provided we will ensure that approx 5"-6" of ease is built into the hoodie based on your bust, waist and hip information. The hoodie is a straight cut design and the largest size will be the one we add 5" too.

    • Hoodie Neck Opening – a maximum of 24” head circumference

    • Hoodie Arm Ease – based on the measurements provided we will ensure that approx 3"-4" of ease is built into the hoodie arms based on your bicep information.

    • Fabric Repeat – all fabric has been cut by hand from the cloth roll woven at our mill, therefore aspects of the repeat will be unique to each item, which is pretty cool as it makes them all unique!

    For all of our made to order items we can usually have your made to order and measure clothing to you within 2 weeks, when our fabric stores have your fabric on the roll.

    For all items ordered as part of the 4 X A Year Club, we can have your clothing to you from as early as 2 weeks or it may be up to 8-10 weeks if we need more fabric. As we are weavers, its super handy right! No waiting months and months for items to pass around various factories, we do it all under one roof.

    My long waited for Maxi Kilt

    It took years of saving to be in a position to buy a Maxi Kilt. The goddesses were with me as when the time came to place an order, Prickly Thistle had partnered with another tartan weaver. The resulting Kilt is simply amazing, surpassing all my meagre expectations. The fabric falls beautifully and is soft to the feel. The cut and subsequent drape is flattering to even this older body. It fits in well with my other Prickly Thistle garments.

    Great quality

    I really love the shirt, colour is very nice. I used to work in a warehouse as quality control for curtain and upholstery fabrics and I really appreciate the great quality of the fabric of the shirt I bought, The shirt is a bit shorter than expected, but I still like it. When I received the parcel I was pleasantly surprised, it was like unpacking a present.

    Terrifying terrific tartan

    When I saw an exhibition at the Design Museum of wartime inspired fabric covered in slogans I wondered where the textile designs of today are to deliver the climate crisis message (apart from slogan T-shirts) so when I heard of the climate tartan I knew it was just what I was looking for. I will be wearing an outfit made from it when I take part in Dorset’s COP. It is truly a work of art in itself and I will ensure I don’t waste any of it.
