Only 173 short sleeve jumpers/tees will be made and each will carry a label noting one year of the data in the stripes design.

We hope to raise £110,000 for Reading University, the worlds leading academic centre for climate research.  Professor Ed Hawkins, created the #ClimateStipes infographic in 2018 and since them it has become an icon of where we are and where we need to go when it comes to the earths temperature.

How does the fundraise work?

We are selling these jumper/tees at lower than cost to encourage all custodians for these items to donate a minimum of £500 to their #ClimateStripes charity - you can do this here.  You do not need to order this item to donate should you wish to do so.

Once your order has been placed we will email you with more information on how to make your tartan rebel donation, when you do make the donation please add to the comments box the #climatetartanrebel.

More info on the mission can be found here on our Climate Stripes Collection page.

They have been designed with zero fabric waste, using our unique methods of only using squares, rectangles and triangles means we are not wasting any fabric like 'modern' clothes making that cuts unnecessary curves or obsesses with lining up patterns.  Why is that even necessary.....

The fabric has been made with wool that is homegrown on the Shetland Isles, spun and dyed by Jamiesons of Shetland on the island, woven by us on our ancient looms on the mainland Highlands and then the fabric is stabilised and washed by Schofields Dyers & Finishers in the Scottish Borders.

When the fabric is returned to us, we make these history making and future saving jumpers!

What It's Made Of

  • Made with 100% finest Shetland wool
  • Spun and dyed in Scotland
  • Woven into tartan fabrics by us at our Highland mill
  • All labels made from hand cut and laser etched Scottish leather

Who It's Made By

  • Made by bad-ass womxn and men of the Scottish Highlands
  • Proudly preserving century old textile skills and machinery
  • Also proudly disrupting the world of future clothing, we have seen the past and it works!

• Size – You can select from Small, Medium or Large, the details are as follows;

Small - jumper length is 18" and the body width seam to seam is 20.5"
Medium - jumper length is 21" and the body width seam to seam is 22.5"
Large - jumper length is 23" and the body width seam to seam is 23.5"

• Neck Style & Sleeve Length – the neck opening is suitable for a maximum of 24” head circumference and is a 2 1/4" upright design. The sleeve length is 8", designed to be worn over base layers in the winter or folded to be a summer breeze tee alternative

• Item Finishing – Hemmed sleeves and bottom, with branded real leather label specifying the makers batch.

• Fabric Design - The Climate Stripes Tartan

• Weave Design - repeated throughout the fabric is an exaggerated herringbone weave, designed to highlight the bar chart like reading of the global temperature changes since 1850

• Fabric Repeat – all fabric has been cut by hand from the cloth roll woven at our mill, therefore aspects of the repeat will be unique to each item, which is pretty cool as it makes them all unique!

• Colour Options - One

• Fabric Weight Options - Medium (compact and cosy)

Global Greatness!

The Climate Stripes jumper and fabric are more stunning in person. The combination of colors are perfection. I ordered it a bit too small and ended up making a jacket out of the jumper using the extra fabric that I purchased. It turned out to be a fun project and I love the final result! I have received many compliments when I wear it and I will treasure it for a lifetime!
