What would you make with one of the most important fabrics of our times....

Very rarely do we have fabric by the metre available, but with this one we thought this was so special we had to make available to all makers out there!

More info on the mission can be found here on our Climate Stripes Collection page.

The fabric has been made with wool that is homegrown on the Shetland Isles, spun and dyed by Jamiesons of Shetland on the island, woven by us on our ancient looms on the mainland Highlands and then the fabric is stabilised and washed by Schofields Dyers & Finishers in the Scottish Borders.

When the fabric is returned to us, we make these history making and future saving Collection items for you to be proud custodians of!

What It's Made Of

  • Made with 100% finest Shetland wool
  • Spun and dyed in Scotland
  • Woven into tartan fabrics by us at our Highland mill
  • All labels made from hand cut and laser etched Scottish leather

Who It's Made By

  • Made by bad-ass womxn and men of the Scottish Highlands
  • Proudly preserving century old textile skills and machinery
  • Also proudly disrupting the world of future clothing, we have seen the past and it works!

• Size – One size - approx 1.4m wide with traditional shuttle selvedge

• Fabric Design - The Climate Stripes Tartan

• Weave Design - repeated throughout the fabric is an exaggerated herringbone weave, designed to highlight the bar chart like reading of the global temperature changes since 1850

• Fabric Repeat – all fabric has been cut by hand from the cloth roll woven at our mill, therefore aspects of the repeat will be unique to each item, which is pretty cool as it makes them all unique!

• Colour Options - One

• Fabric Weight Options - Medium (compact and cosy)

If this is a made to measure item and you need any help with working out your sizes, then check out our Measure Me Size Guide

Terrifying terrific tartan

When I saw an exhibition at the Design Museum of wartime inspired fabric covered in slogans I wondered where the textile designs of today are to deliver the climate crisis message (apart from slogan T-shirts) so when I heard of the climate tartan I knew it was just what I was looking for. I will be wearing an outfit made from it when I take part in Dorset’s COP. It is truly a work of art in itself and I will ensure I don’t waste any of it.

Best fabric ever touched

The climate stripes fabric is nothing which can be compared with any fabric being produced
and sold from a mass-production.
Touching it, you feel the freedom and smell of the Scottish Highlands❣️
