Visit Our Mill
Visit Our Mill Update - 10th January 2022
We have sadly made the decision due to recent Covid announcements to temporarily stop visits to the Mill. We will update this page when we re open our booking diary, we will review in February with current expectation that we will re-open in March.
We hope that you understand it is important to us to keep our staff and visitors safe. Thank you for your interest and we look forward to welcoming you to the Prickly Thistle Mill later in 2022.
From Summer 2021, and for the first time in a long time we are delighted to welcome visitors to come and experience the magic of our Highland mill and browse around our mill shop.
The most important aspect of any visit to us is your safety and of course your enjoyment. During these times, unfortunately all visits must be pre-arranged to ensure we are compliant with all Covid-19 safety regulations. Therefore we kindly ask all visitors to wear a mask throughout their visit, the exception being those with medical exemptions.
We kindly ask that you don't drop in on us unexpectedly, we do our best to welcome everyone always but we have a very small team here running between their many jobs to keep the mill life going. As we are still growing we don't have a dedicated shop team but we are looking to put something official in place for Spring 2022 and we can't wait! Also, if you need to reach us, email is better than phone... this is a noisy mill haha!
Please email email@example.com to arrange a visit in advance. We will do our upmost to accommodate your day and time preferences. In reply to your email we will confirm that we will be ready to welcome you, and assure you that you will be the only visitor on site.
We kindly ask that you also set a reminder to fill out our Visitor Form 1 day prior to your arrival and email us to confirm its completion.
If you do have any queries, anytime, then please do just reach out on email, or use our chat service on the website.
All tours will be £25 per adult with under 16's free, your tour will be approx 45 mins long. Should you wish to purchase any of our products on site the tour price will be deducted from these. As we are a working mill, at times we have to stop production to allow you to get the most of your experience. As a small business we rely on an income stream to remain financially viable and to continue to protect the craft we worked so very hard to bring back to the region in 2018.
We have been blown away by the number of visitors this summer but we have experienced many hours of down time with no income, so free tours are no longer viable for us as a small company.
We cannot wait to welcome you and show you around our tartan rebel world....
Our address is:
