This is our first ever side slit dress design, launched new for 2023.  Incorporating a distinct summer vibe, the dress features our trim style neck and arms.  As no dress should ever be made without pockets, we have two side seam beauties to ensure you have the full rebel swag as you walk.  Unique to our zero waste design techniques you can wear this dress either way - yip there is no front or back..... so you can decide if you would prefer the side slit on the left or the right.  We just love flexibility!  Also don't forget you can pair this with our "one" belt listed in our accessories section.

Available in 3 sizes, this is a limited batch of our Fire & Embers version of the the Fire Elements tartan.  The side slit is 14" up from the hemline.

The fabric has been woven by us at our mill using merino yarns and finished in our little sewing suite, at the hands of amazing tartan rebels!

All dresses are 51" long, with seam to seam sizes as follows;

  • Small - 20.5" ((fitting hips or bust up to 38")
  • Medium - 24.5" (fitting hips or bust up to 46")
  • Large - 28.5" (fitting hips of bust up to 54")

What It's Made Of

  • Made with 100% finest natural merino wool
  • Spun and dyed in Scotland
  • Woven into tartan fabrics by us at our Highland mill
  • All labels made from hand cut and laser etched Scottish leather

• Size – Small - shoulder to calf hem length 51", seam to seam width 20.5", arm circumference 18"

• Size – Medium - shoulder to calf hem length 51", seam to seam width 24.5", arm circumference 18.5"

• Size – Large - shoulder to calf hem length 51", seam to seam width 28.5", arm circumference 19"

• Neck Opening – a maximum of 24” head circumference

• Sleeve Sizes & Length – this is a loose fitting sleeve by design with a distinct trim finish of 1" in depth

• Item Finishing – Hemmed sleeves and dress bottom, with branded real leather label specifying the makers batch.

• Fabric Design - Limited quantity of Fire & Ember

• Weave Design - repeated throughout the fabric is the symbol of the alchemy elements, these are visible on the inside layer. The outer takes on an unusual flame like movement.

• Fabric Repeat – all fabric has been cut by hand from the cloth roll woven at our mill, therefore aspects of the repeat will be unique to each item, which is pretty cool as it makes them all unique!

• Colour Options - only in bright red and black

• Fabric Weight Options - Medium (compact and cosy)

For all of our made to order items we can usually have your made to order and measure clothing to you within 2 weeks, when our fabric stores have your fabric on the roll.

For all items ordered as part of the 4 X A Year Club, we can have your clothing to you from as early as 2 weeks or it may be up to 8-10 weeks if we need more fabric. As we are weavers, its super handy right! No waiting months and months for items to pass around various factories, we do it all under one roof.

Here we proudly share with you our less than x 1 mark-up that we apply, and how this garment has been costed.

Most brands in the 'fashion' world add multipliers of x 2 for wholesale then add another x 2 for retail. When you buy direct from us its a less than x 1, we use the profits from everything we create to support more fairly paid jobs and push the textile world to be more eco-conscious. But we do a lot more like donating to charities and education bodies. This is what we proudly call our ethical pay it forward mark up.

You wear the item 3 times a week for the next 3 years, that is 468 wears. The CPW is £245 divided by 468 wears, Cost Per Wear 52p!

Terrifying terrific tartan

When I saw an exhibition at the Design Museum of wartime inspired fabric covered in slogans I wondered where the textile designs of today are to deliver the climate crisis message (apart from slogan T-shirts) so when I heard of the climate tartan I knew it was just what I was looking for. I will be wearing an outfit made from it when I take part in Dorset’s COP. It is truly a work of art in itself and I will ensure I don’t waste any of it.
